Bathroom flooring
Vinyl is a very popular choice as not only is it comfortable for every day use, it’s also slip resistant and completely waterproof. It also works really well with underfloor heating which is a touch of extra luxury. The upkeep for vinyl is minimal as well, all you need is a brush, a mop and some domestic bleach or flooring cleaner.
Luxury Vinyl Tiles or LVT is very similar to vinyl, after all it’s made from the same material. The difference between the two comes from the fact that standard vinyl comes in a sheet form, where as LVT are (like the name suggests) tiles. They have a higher standard of finish and come in a range of different effects and designs. The upkeep is just as simple, and if one of the tiles goes get damaged they’re easy enough to take out and replace.
There are a range of tiles out there than can be used as suitable bathroom flooring. This includes ceramic, porcelain and natural stone. Ceramic and porcelain are the most common types of tiles used. They’re more affordable and come in a range of finishes. They’re also completely waterproof however they aren’t as simple as other flooring styles to install. Natural stone tiles give a high end, luxurious feel however they come with the price tag to match. More maintenance is needed for this style and regular re-appliance of sealant will need to be used to keep the tiles looking good.
