How to look after your Luxury Vinyl Tiles

When it comes to flooring, it’s one part of your home that gets a huge amount of usage on a day to day basis. It’s also a large expense when it comes to improving your home, so it’s imperative that you maintain your flooring and keep it looking as good as possible. If you’ve recently had luxury vinyl tiles (LVT)  installed, or you’re thinking about LVT installed, here are some top tips on how to look after your LVT.

• Cleaning

Regular cleaning needs to be carried out with a neutral cleaning solution, or a cleaning solution that has been specifically developed to be used on LVT flooring. You should use a soft, non abrasive cloth alongside the cleaning solution to ensure no scratches. Once you’ve cleaned your floor, make sure to give everything a wipe down with one water to make sure no cleaning solution is left on the tiles.

• Spills

Always wipe up any spills as soon as they happen. Even though LVT is extremely water resistant, spills can still cause an issue with stainage or permanent marks.

• Floor Protectors

If you’re going to have heavy pieces of furniture on the vinyl, they can actually end up causing marks or even some damage. By placing protectors on the furniture feet you can actually take off a little bit of impact off the floor and limit any wear and tear that might happen.
