Whatever flooring style you choose, you want it to last for as long as possible. Vinyl flooring is incredibly hard wearing, but it can always do with a little helping hand when it comes to maintenance.

The number one rule when it comes to vinyl flooring is don’t drag, pull or push any weighted items along the floor as it can cause scuffs and scratches to the top layers. Then for those heavy pieces of furniture that you’re not going to move very often, make sure you place down some floor protectors.

The best way to collect any large pieces of dust and debris is by using a soft bristled brush. You can then use your vacuum cleaner to suck up the collected dirt. It’s important to be aware and avoid using vacuums that have a beater bars. These bars are brilliant are bringing up the dirt in carpets but after repeated use, they can actually end up damaging the flooring.

When it comes to cleaning, it’s not advised to use harsh chemicals. You can use specific vinyl cleaning fluids, or you could use warm soapy water and make sure that you don’t leave the vinyl too wet as over time it can cause lifting, bubbling and long term damaging.  Also avoid using abrasive scourers of any time as they can massively damage your flooring as well.
