When people say that the kitchen is the heart of the home they’re not wrong! You cook, clean, and spend a lot of quality family time in your kitchen so you need a flooring style that is as hard working as your kitchen is! As well as hard wearing, you also want something that looks as stylish as the rest of your home. Here are the top four things that your kitchen flooring needs to be in order to work well!

  • Low maintenance

The best kitchen floor should be easy to keep clean as there’s no doubt there’s going to be spills and drips.

  • Affordable

Flooring shouldn’t be something that breaks the bank, and thanks to all of our different ranges here at Welch Mill we’re sure there is something to suit every budget!

  • Durability

You don’t want to be spending unnecessary amount of money replacing your flooring year on year, so you need to make sure that the flooring you choose at the very beginning is durable.

  • Style/looks

Looks aren’t everything but of course you want something that goes with the rest of your house and kitchen.

So what flooring options should I choose?

Hardwood flooring never really goes out of style. If it’s starting too look a bit shabby the planks can sanded and made to look their best again. But you’ll need to be very careful with any spillages as wooden flooring like this can stain and soak up any spills very easily.

Laminate is a very popular choice as well. It’s very resistant to damage however it’s not as water resistant as other flooring like vinyl. So again that means you need to be quick when it comes to trying up spillages.

Talking about vinyl, this is one of the cheapest options out there. This style of flooring has come on leaps and bound recently, and you can now get some vinyls that look very impressive! The only downside is that this kind of flooring sometimes can bubble, dent or curl. It can also be damaged easier than other styles of flooring.
