What flooring would work best in your kitchen?

Kitchen flooring
As the saying goes, the kitchen is the heart of the home! So you need to make sure that your kitchen flooring is up to the job. And that it’s able to handle anything that you could throw, splatter or drop on it! And that’s where we come in! Here at Welch Mill, flooring warehouse North West, we have been in the carpet and flooring industry for long enough to know the pros and cons of different types of kitchen flooring.

Kitchen Flooring

Hardwood – it’s a flooring type that is always in style and can come in an impressive range of different colours, looks and finishes. And if it does start to look a little bit worn, it can always be re-sanded to look its best again. But, hardwood flooring doesn’t take kindly to spillages. So if you do decide to have this installed in your kitchen, you need to make sure that you keep on top of any drips that may land on the floor and wipe them up straight away!

Laminate – this is the most common type of flooring, used all around the house, not only the kitchen. It’s hard wearing and easy to clean and maintain, so perfect for families with kids and pets. The only negative that we can think of for laminate flooring is that it isn’t able to cope well with moisture as it can warp when wet.

Vinyl –  this style of flooring is probably our favourite flooring type. It’s very inexpensive, but can be made to look very classy and expensive. It’s easy to clean, easy to maintain and easy to replace if you ever need to. However, after time it can start to dent or curl. It tends to have a shorter wear life than other flooring but the price can counter balance that.
